The Age of Aquarius is an astrological age. Approximately every 2 thousand years, the sun's location in front of the stars at the time of the vernal equinox will move to a new constellation. A new age is said to begin at this point. The Age of Aquarius is when the vernal equinox point will move from Pisces to Aquarius.
I finally did a talk about the Age of Aquarius here:
To date, the Earth herself has actually experienced 6 ages dating all the way back to when humanity first appeared. This was in the Age of Leo. It is important to note that there can be overlap between signs and as such the transference of Ages does not happen "all at once".
In my talk, I talk about how there is a belief that this time last year - with the great conjunction between Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius could be used as a sort of kick-off into the Age of Aquarius. According to other sources, however, the Age of Aquarius was said to kick-off during the total eclipse of the Sun in August of 1999.
Being that we are now in an eclipse that is also very much highlighted by the polarity in the signs... I would say that we ae now in a bit of a checkpoint in the age's precession into Aquarius.
Aquarius is said to be a time of enhanced human consciousness, and while I do feel like that is happening, there is also a sense of a bit of resistance to move away from hierarchy and also discovering that the true technology that exists is actually our own biological selves.
